You want to keep the customer’s journey as incident free as possible, so the customer is protected, and their money is not diverted from your financial institution into proceeds of crime.
The often-stated phrase that it is a journey, not a destination, should apply here in that your money should never be destined to get into the hands of bad actors. The result is potentially a transnational criminal organization now in control of it. And they may have all sorts of nefarious plans on what to do with your money.
Keep your money safe from fraudsters.

🔍 The AML Customer Journey: From Onboarding to a Potential STR/SAR 🚨
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) is much more than a compliance requirement—it’s a structured process designed to protect the financial system from illicit activities.
This infographic highlights the complete AML customer journey:
✅ Customer Onboarding & KYC Verification
✅ Risk Assessment & Customer Profiling
✅ Ongoing Transaction Monitoring
✅ Identification of Risk Triggers
✅ Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
✅ Alert Review & Investigation
✅ Escalation of High-Risk Cases
✅ STR/SAR Filing when suspicion remains
A strong AML framework relies on a risk-based approach, continuous monitoring, and timely escalation to identify and mitigate financial crime risks effectively.
💡 Key Takeaway: Most customers never reach the STR/SAR stage because robust AML controls help detect and address risks early in the customer lifecycle.
