Phones are being used to wipe you out

In this financial vulnerability website’s novaultnofault.com Call to Action it is mentioned that consumers, seniors in particular, who are more vulnerable to scams, should be weary of ever picking up the phone and answering it unless you know who exactly is calling you.

Even then, spoofers and fraudsters can be persuasive and very deceptive in using identity theft to imitate a bank official, a telco, tech company or even a government official showing utmost concern about your financial well-being. Much to the contrary, they are trying to draw you in with convincing and conniving kindness and sooner or later, into their evil vortex to steal as much money as possible from you. They are professionals and know what to do if they can catch a vulnerable consumer on the other end of the line.

One seniors-driven organization featured on this site is the Canadian Association of Retired Persons or CARP as they are widely known. Like their AARP counterpart in the US, CARP is actively trying to help seniors avoid being scammed and prevent fraud from happening in the first place.

Here is a webinar video highlighted in CARP’s December newsletter which warns you about the danger of answering the phone from a stranger that may well be attempting to scam you of your hard-earned money. Many good tips are provided to make sure you do not become a phone scam victim.

Here is the video featuring CARP CEO Anthony Quinn interviewing Red Wireless. Click on the link below to open the video.
